Peggy is an Austin FX4 Fairway who spent her first 15 years working as a London Taxi (black cab).
We purchased her in 2013 when she was forced to retire due to the emission rules in London.
She was completely stripped inside and refitted with cream leather seats and new red carpet. The outside was stripped back to the bare metal, and professionally repaired and re-sprayed in Old English White.
As Peggy is plain cream, we envisage her being an ideal choice as a second car for bridesmaids as she will match well with the majority of our fleet, and we offer a substantial discount for multiple car bookings. She can of course be hired as the bridal car and is more competitively priced than our landaulette models.
The 'for hire' sign on the roof has been replaced with a 'just married' sign, a nice finishing touch. We have also added a flip down seat in the front passenger bay, meaning that the car can take a maximum of 6 passengers...although the front seat is quite confined, so we wouldn't recommend it for long journeys. Peggy is able to accommodate a wheelchair.
We decided to purchase a 'WED' registration number for Peggy, keeping the prefix letter of 'P' from her original registration. Consequently we decided her name should start with P, so we named her Peggy after my husband's late aunt.
